MASH Makes recently appointed Dr. Carol Bell, a leader with extensive energy industry experience, as Chair of board. Dr. Bell brings a wealth of expertise to MASH Makes, having been involved in the energy sector for over 40 years. In 2019, she was one of the founders of Chapter Zero, a network which supports non-executive directors as they work to mitigate climate risk. Chapter Zero is an integral part of the World Economic Forum’s Climate Governance Initiative.

"MASH Makes' focus on providing sustainable energy solutions aligns perfectly with my interest in the transition away from fossil fuels and developing circular economies. I look forward to working with the team to commercialise the innovation achieved so far, which has the potential to make a significant contribution on the path to net zero." says Bell.

Dr. Bell’s career spans roles as an investment banker, equity analyst, and executive leader in several organisations. She began her journey in North Sea Oil and Gas at RTZ Oil and Gas, moved to Charterhouse Petroleum, and later joined UBS as an equity analyst. Later, she advanced to senior roles at CSFB and JP Morgan, where she led the Energy Equity Research team globally. She also served as a Managing Director of Chase Manhattan's Global Oil & Gas Group.

In addition to her industry achievements, Dr. Bell holds a PhD in the archaeology of ancient trade. She has published a book on this subject and continues to pursue research in this field.

Her current positions include non-executive directorships at the listed companies Bonheur ASA and Tharisa plc. She is also a Director of Windward Energy, a private company based in Edinburgh focused on developing renewable energy infrastructure in the UK, serves on the board of the Football Association of Wales, is a Council Member of Research England, and the Senior Independent Director of the National Physical Laboratory.

"Dr. Bell’s experience, industry knowledge, and passion for sustainability align perfectly with our mission to drive innovative solutions for a greener future," said Jakob Bejbro Andersen, CEO of MASH Makes. "With her leadership, we can accelerate our efforts toward removing gigatons of carbon from the atmosphere within decades."
